This Saturday, Save DC Public Land: Working for a Safe, Racially Equitable, and Truly Affordable U Street<\/a><\/em> invites you to an open public forum at the 3D community room to hear updates and further discuss the future of our 2-acres of public land (and current home of the police and fire stations that serve the U Street corridor). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this brutal budget season with the Mayor’s austerity budget being threatened upon the city, it’s becoming clearer and clearer the valuable role our public land and air rights can play to insulate us from Federal spending cuts while simultaneously generating housing supply, providing consistent and voluminous income streams for the city, and delivering true affordability for all incomes and family sizes, and to do all that without giving away the city’s limited key assets.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
