Recently <a href=\"https:\/\/savedcpublicland.org\/the1617project\/2023\/12\/22\/giving-thanks-for-your-support\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"777\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">many neighbors spoke up and sent in letters to the D.C. Zoning Commission<\/a> in opposition to the luxury upzoning proposal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, we&#8217;ve heard from CM Nadeau and Ward Two Councilmember Brooke Pinto that they can only hope the Third District police station and Engine 9 fire station may choose to come back to any future redevelopment of this public site but there are no guarantees&#8211; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe width=\"560\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/r-4C7VaOaGg?si=74buxMkCDIdoKo-D&amp;start=4850\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In May 2023,<\/em> ANC 1C asks: &#8220;There&#8217;s a rumor circulating that &#8230; the police station will be moved&#8221;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Ward 1 Councilmember Nadeau responds<\/em><\/strong>: &#8220;I&#8217;m not aware of any plans to move MPD. If they move it would be because they want to. &#8230; I know actually to be honest with you &#8230; they have considered other sites that would be more central to the Third District because as you know it&#8217;s like it&#8217;s kind of the upper north part of the district. &#8230; [N]obody&#8217;s asking them to move.
