We are working to stop the city’s giveaway of nearly 2-acres of public land at 1617 U Street to a private developer to construct a new 10+ story building consisting mostly of luxury housing and some “affordable” housing.

The site is the current home of Engine 9 fire station and Third District Police station and they will likely be displaced in the privatization of the land.
